"Research, hm? Sounds interesting. Though I'd keep you for more or a practical woman, doing more with her hands, being involved in the action of building, fixing, tinkering with stuff. Not that much for someone to spend a day behind a mainframe or computer."

"I-I'm pretty fragile...so I don't do much building..." She looked around nervously. "...I mainly work with wires and computers..."

"Fragile, right. We think otherwise. Just because it's hard on us, and tough, doesn't mean we won't have to do it. It means we have to find a way to either improve, or find something or someone who can do it. Laziness is something you sure won't find with us."

"I-I never said I was lazy..." She looked down. "...I-I just don't have the strength to do much lifting...so I just fix what I can, and do my research."

"You managed to fix the communications on the Gunship. That's quite the thing already. Not many can say they did that." He checked the time again. 9 more minutes before the Gunship would be there.

She blushed again. "I-It was nothing...j-just a few cut wires..." She lowered her head shyly.

"It was great work, and without it, we'd probably still be stuck here. Might even have never found this guy." He patted the pilot's shoulder. "He owes his life to you. So do I for that matter. You can be proud of yourself."

He stayed with his comrade, feeling guilt building up for having forgotten to check the entire gunship. He knew only he and Cody were on board, but completely forgot the pilot. It wasn't long after, that they heard the engines of the other Gunship nearing. Odessa got his helmet, putting it on, and grabbed the pilot, pulling him up. The Gunship landed about a minute later, 5 troops, in armor equal to that of the dead soldier, jumping out, and coming over to the people. Odessa and one of the people talked a bit, seemingly to be a conversation concerning the mission and the crash. Odessa then pointed to Dionaea, to which the other man walked over to Dionaea, as the remaining people were salvaging what they could from the crashed Gunship. "I heard you assisted these men. Sergeant Odessa told me you needed a lift home, we'd be glad to give you one." The voice was fairly hearable, despite the engines of the Gunship.

She stood up, blushing. All she could do was nod. She was at a loss for words.

The man led her to the Gunship, still entirely intact, save for a few damages on the hull, concerning paint. Odessa and the pilot were already on board, and it didn't take the other men much time to get all salvageable equipment on the loading bay of the Gunship. 2 stayed behind, armed, to keep the location secure, until supporter Gunships would arrive to salvage the wreckage. Lifting of again, they headed towards the general direction of Assyria. The soldier that had approached her before, came to her, asking for specific directions.

She nodded, pointing at a general location outside the city, within walking distance of her home. No sense in having them make noise and draw attention to themselves by landing in her front lawn...

The man nodded, and relayed the info to the pilot. Within 5 minutes, they landed at the location she'd pointed out, and Odessa was handed his weapon again, along with a survival bag, to carry with him, just in case, as he and Dionaea jumped off the Gunship. Odessa and the soldier made a couple agreements on when they'd meet up again, so they could pick him up. After a handshake, the Gunship lifted off again, and left in southern direction. "Alone again. At least not stuck in the forest line. Lead the way, miss, this here is your area."

She nodded shyly. She thought he was going with them. She hurried along the streets, it was certainly past midnight...

Odessa followed her, aware of nightly dangers and his weapon in his hands, ready for use, were it to come that far.

She arrived at her home, a stately manor that said someone wealthy lived there. "H-here...is my home..."

He looked behind them, then up at the building in front. "Looks quite fancy for someone. You live alone in this place?"

"L-like I told you earlier...I've been alone since childhood...so...it's just me...and the occasional maid..." She fumbled with the key, unlocking the door.

"And now me, for as long as you'll need me around. Or as long as they spare me on my break." He took off the helmt as the door closed behind him, keeping it under his arm. "I assume you have more then enough room for me. Any specific guest rooms?"

She blushed, pointing up the stairs. "P-pick any room...I-I'll have to let f-father know you're staying..." She walked off, grabbing her cell phone to make a call.

He went upstairs, settling down in one of the rooms, putting his armor on the table he had there, and his bag on the bed, being in his undersuit only. He sat down on the bed, and looked at his shoulder, bondaged as it was.

After talking, she hung up, and located the room he'd selected. "H-he says you can stay...but he doesn't want me...a-and you..." She blushed, thinking of how he phrased it. Like she was a child...

"Not quite sure what you mean. But I'll just stay in here. If you need me, just give a yell or something." Born and raised as soldier, he had never asked nor known any of the things she was referring to. He did not know of them, so wouldn't react on them. As such, he took the shirt off, exposing his upper body, bruised as it was, and folded the shirt properly, putting it on a chair. "Ill head to bed then. Its fairly late, I suggest you do the same."

He laid down on the bed, looking up at the ceiling. It'd been a challenging day, both for him and her. They'd need some proper rest, probably tomorrow as well. And with Cody's death, he really could use the break. The only thing he hoped for was that the night terrors wouldn't bother him in his stay here. Everyone back home had them, so it wasn't anything weird, but here. Dionaea knew nothing of the hell out there, and he wished she'd be saved from ever finding out. He slowly fell asleep.
