She looked down at the floor, shutting her bedroom door behind her. "S-sorry...I-I guess my nerves got to me...I-I can't exactly be near any electronics when I'm nervous...I-I start to produce static..."

"And may kill the electronics. Yes, I understand. speaking of which, quite the impressive work you have downstairs. Haven't seen that in a while."

Shy went red, panicking. HE saw her work!? "Y-you...saw my work!?" She ran down the stairs, her heart pounding. No one was supposed to see that! How careless she was...her heart was beginning to sink, now that someone had seen vital secrets...he was in danger too...

"Well yes. You kinda left the laptop open. It's nothing really, just a lot of detail concerning the Gate, from what I could see. Quite into detail, but nothing really serious. And I didn't change anything for that matter."

Some of her fears left, but she was still worried. "O-oh..." She saved her progress and closed the laptop. "...n-no one but me and my employers are supposed to know anything about this...whether you think it was nothing or not...it still...puts you at risk..." She sat down, her heart still racing a little.

"I'm expendable. Just one of many warriors. Yet if they notice I'm missing, and no longer keeping up contact. They'll get to the bottom of it. We don't value ourselves much, but we value each other beyond anything. We're all brothers to each other, so we'll never let anyone just disappear without a trace. If they want to hurt me, they'll have to get through our entire army." He spoke with much pride over his fellow soldiers, clearly meaning the ones who helped them out, from the other Gunship.

"I see..." She'd heard something similar from the others...so she did have backup...she wasn't alone. "...w-will you help me if my employer decides...to off me?" She looked at him, deciding to place her trust in him. If she was betrayed in the end...it was her own fault. "This work..." She placed a hand on her laptop. "...is probably going to be used to weaponize...the properties found within the gate. I don't know if they know that I know what they are planning...but if they do...I'll be silenced when I turn over my data..."

"If you want it, I can even bring along a patrol of soldiers, when you are to deliver it, to ensure your safety. Or at least put up a hell of a fight, while trying to get out. I owe you that much. And you deserve as much." He knelt before her and put a hand on her shoulder. "You'll have my allegiance, if ever you'd need it."

Her heart sped up. She placed her hand over his, feeling its warmth. "Th-thanks..." She tried not to shock him, as she often did when nervous and holding someone's hand.

He gave her a nod, then stood up again. "So do you have anything planned for the day, or want to make some plans? I doubt you want to sit around and work on that stuff all day long."

"I-I was planning on copying the data...then handing it over to my employer...telling them I can't find anymore data..." She looked at him, her heart gradually returning to normal as she beheld him.

She nodded. "Okay..." The longer she waited...the more impatient they'd be for their precious 'data'. She looked down, surprised at how comfortable she'd become around him so quickly.

She blushed. "O-okay." Father would probably intervene by sending someone to break them up...if he found out about her affections...

"So what is it you'd want to do? today's yours entirely." He found it a tad bit hard to believe he was gonna follow up orders from someone, during his own break, but he didn't mind. It was for someone whom he owed his life to, so at any rate, he wouldn't mind.

She stood up. "H-how about just walking...w-with me...th-through the city?" She blushed, looking away. Surely her father would blow this opportunity for her to establish a normal life...

She nodded, leaving the laptop where it was, one of the maids would let themselves in later...and they'd know where to put it. She grabbed his hand, and led him out of the house, locking up behind her. She was dressed casually, nothing to draw attention to herself. She tried hard each day to make herself appear normal.

Odessa followed her, not being given much choice to do so otherwise, anyway. "So, what'll we do in the city? Anything to do there, you wanted to?"

"N-nothing...nothing in particular..." She pulled him along, setting off for the city. Her father said she wasn't allowed near him...yet her heart told her otherwise. She never got anywhere following what she was told...so she'd listen to herself for a change.

She brought him back, humming merrily. Despite the grim talks in the restaurant, she was happy.

He followed her, having been more or less silent throughout the walk to her house. He was going through his training, and in no way could he recollect anything concerning the things she'd told him about.
