Doubtful Home

Dionaea walked through the town, holding her laptop like a child holding a teddy bear. "What have I done? I can't stop...yet if I continue...I'll be in trouble with that woman..." She made her way back to the house her parents bought for her to live in after she'd left home. It was empty as always, yet she was never truly alone, because she was always watched, to make sure she wasn't hurting anyone with her powers.

As he was walking on the road, the man brought a lot of attention with his tall hood over his head. He was looking around, admiring the city of the rich, as it was his first time leaving his hometown, Noricum. There was a lot of houses near the road and people were talking all over. Everyone seemed happy and nobody looked poor. As he was walking like that, wind started blowing and blew his hood off, revealing his horns that he tried to hide so eagerly. Some people looked at him surprised as they didn't notice the horns he was hiding. He just stood there, waiting for a response.

Dionaea sat her laptop down, deciding to leave it alone for a while. "I have to make a decision..." She left her house, locking up behind her.

Kill, as the man's name was, quickly pulled the hood back on and hurried through the crowd so the people who seen his horns haven't seen him anymore. His rush was apparently big, as he accidentally crashed into a girl. The hit surprised him but it didn't phaze him.

She fell backwards, rubbing her head. "Watch where you're going..."

"I am really sorry, I don't usually crash into people. Need help?" He extended his arm in the way where the girl was lying.

She shook her head, getting up on her own. She wasn't going to rely on others for help...at least not if she could help it. "I'm fine."

He put the hand back and watched what the girl will do now.

She looked at the boy. "I'll be on my way then..." She made to leave, resuming her walk, trying to refocus her thoughts.

"Wait!" the man said after the girl. "Sorry I crashed into you. Do you need a drink or are you not feeling alright?"

She looked back at the boy, confused. "Why are you offering me something? D-do you want something from me?" She was unused to social conventions, having been alone most of her life. From what she understood...people offered something when they wanted something in return...

"Well, it's not daily that someone throws you on the ground. I want to be assured that you're ok." The man scratched the back of his hood.

"I said I was fine...didn't I? Or did you not hear me?" She was confused. What was happening?

"I sense that you're confused in your voice. What's on your mind?" Kill felt that these questions can be a bit personal, but he knew that the girl worries about something big and he wanted to help as much as he could, yet he didn't even introduce himself yet...

She looked away. She didn't want to involve anyone else...she'd already involved that woman... "N-nothing...I-I'm just not used to dealing with people. I've been alone since I was a child..."

"Ah... Must've been really hard for you... I know how you feel. My name is Kill." He put on a brief smile. "What's your name?"

She looked at him. "Y-you do?" She looked away. Maybe he was lying. "I-I'm Dionaea..."

"Ah, beautiful name." He smiled. "So what's troubling you, miss?"

She looked at him. "N-nothing, I said..." She turned away from him. "...just nothing."

"Well, if you want to share your burden, I'll be staying in Assyria for a while. If you'd need help, now you know where I'll be."

"O-okay..." She ran off, embarrassed. She didn't want to rely on anyone, and had always been encouraged to be self-reliant her entire life. Why was she still here? What was her purpose?

He was looking after the girl and sighed.
